Hello Friends, being awake and aware goes deeper than just a physical consciousness. Not because your eyes are physically open means that you are awake. Yes, you may be awake physically, but are you awake spiritually? Are you aware of what is happening in your spiritual life, or are you still spiritually asleep? Do you know that life is more than what you can physically see and that the physical state is a manifestation of the spiritual state?
You may ask, what does it mean to be spiritually awake and aware? Well, the answer is simple. Being spiritually awake and aware is taking notice of God in your life. It is knowing that He loves you and you in turn choosing to follow His ways. It is you making daily decisions to follow the lifestyle that He has called you to live (it is all written out for you in the Bible). It is you partnering with God to make a difference in this world.
You see friends, each day we must remember that despite what we may go through in life, the daily hustle, the ways of the world, and the systematic routines, we must put God first. We will not be in this world forever. Our physical state is going to diminish, and yes, one day the breath of God is going to leave your body and you will transition from this world to another. The physical life will no longer matter. Therefore, friends, you need to live each day with this in mind. If you live each day with this in mind, you will live your life here more intentionally. Not carelessly, but within the purpose you are here for.
In the book of Psalm chapter 90:12 KJV, the Psalmist says, “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. While we have physical life we must be wise about the way we live it. We must do the things that apply to spiritual awareness. This only comes through knowing God, believing in His son Jesus Christ, and being empowered by His Holy Spirit. You cannot live this life alone. God has designed you to need Him. Being spiritually dead is living the way you want to live without conviction of who God is and the way He wants you to live while you are here.
Dead living will only reap death. But if you are alive and making Godly decisions, then you will receive life in eternity. So be encouraged today friends to be fully AWAKE and AWARE spiritually. Let him that sleep sleep no more. Ephesians 5:14 NIV states, “Wake up sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you. There is nothing worse than when you are trying to sleep and there is a bright light shining in your face. You will get none. However, spiritually this is a good thing because we must be wide awake in these times. We must be more aware of the darkness and spiritual laziness that can entrap us to stay asleep. It is evident that evil is more intense. We see it with our natural eyes. The wars, the perversions, the selfishness, the breakdown of the family structure, and so much more! Therefore friends we need to be AWAKE and AWARE.
