Therefore I will look unto the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.
Hello friends. Do you have a request that you have been putting before the Lord for some time now? Are you wondering what is taking God so long to answer you? Have you become so discouraged that you gave up on getting that prayer answered? You may even be upset with God because you feel like He is not hearing you, or doesn’t want to give you what you so desperately need. You may even be petitioning the Lord on behalf of someone else and there has been no breakthrough to their prayers either.
Well my friends, I believe that your Heavenly Father wants to encourage you today. His message to you is to not give up. He is only stretching your faith.
You see friends, as we pray to the Sovereign Lord, and ask Him for things, He wants to do more than just answer our prayers. He wants us to foster an unshakable relationship with Him. While He certainly wants to give us our needs and our hearts desire, He also wants and desires for us to spend some time with Him in prayer, talking to Him, telling Him our heart (even though He knows our heart), loving on Him, and Him loving on us. Friends, sometimes we can treat God like a genie in a bottle, or try to dictate to God what He must do in our dire circumstances.
God wants us to be desperate for Him, not just desperate for what He can give us.
I am reminded of the centurion soldier who came to Jesus on behalf of his paralyzed servant. He told Jesus, just say the word and his servant will be healed, Matthew 8:5-13. I am also reminded of the woman with the issue of blood who pressed her way through the crowd to get to touch the hem of Jesus’s garment for her healing, Mark 5:25-34. These are 2 familiar stories we may all know. The point is that Jesus was so moved by their great faith in Him to change their circumstances. One request was on behalf of someone else and the other was a personal request. As I think on the details of their story, I realized that this is the type of desperation we must have in seeking or asking God to do something for others and ourselves. Coming to a place of desperation STRETCHES our faith and moves God to act with great pleasure toward us. We must want our prayers to be answered so desperately, that we will stop at nothing until we get what we are praying for.
Consistent and steadfast faith in God, seen through our relentless prayers, While building a steadfast and trusting relationship with our Heavenly Father.
So be encouraged today to keep on praying. Be encouraged today to continue to build a trusting and loving relationship with the one through whom all things are possible. HE LOVES YOU!
PEACE AND LOVE.
