He’s still working on me; to make me what I ought to be. It took Him just a week to make the sun and the moon, the earth and the stars, and Jupiter and Mars. How loving and patient He must be. He’s still working on me.
Hello friends, These words are the words of a song that I grew up singing in Sunday school as a child. The words of this song never resignated to me until I truly realized that when you give your life to God, that He begins a work in you. The work is to change you from a sinful nature, to a life of obedience to Him. Unfortunately, When Adam and Eve disobeyed God and sinned, they brought the sin nature on the whole human race. The ability to know good and evil. When we come to the realization that we are in a sinful state and asks God to forgive us our sins, we give Him permission to change and transform us into what He has intended for us to be from the very beginning.
1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive our sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteous.” So yes, He is doing a cleansing work in us. He encourages us to examine ourselves, and as we examine ourselves; our thoughts, the way we live our lives, the things we do, the things we say, the way we treat others, and our character. As our hearts are turned to His righteous ways of living, we really begin to see just how flawed we are and can be. Every single human being born into this world cannot escape this reality. But thanks be to God that He loves us so much that He provided a way for us to be His sons and daughters once again.
So allow God to work on you, so that you can live the life that He has intended/predestined for you. Allow Him to break you, shape you, discipline you by His Spirit that He gives you to help you make this transformation. IT IS A DAILY PROCESS and God does not pressure you to be perfect, He only wants that you be free from sin. Sin brings death (eternal separation from God). He does not want that for us. He wants all His children to live with Him for all eternity.
I pray God’s peace and patience over you today, as you allow Him to work on you. His grace is sufficient.
