Determine your Reward

Hello friends, Last week we were reminded from the book of Revelation 22:12, that Jesus is coming back. He said that He is coming back quickly, meaning suddenly; without immediate warning. When He comes, He’s coming with His reward to give every man according to their work. Picture that. Envision what you think that day would be like as Jesus gives you your reward for the works you did in the earth. What are your feelings right now as you think about it? Are you as excited as a little child on Christmas day, anxious to open that gift they’ve been well behaved for, and waiting on all year long? Or, are you feeling concerned because you know you didn’t live to receive good reward?

Take some time over the course of the week to examine your works. Take an introspec of the things that you are doing in your life on a day to day. Are you walking in God’s love? Are you helping others, and being led by the Spirit of God? Make sure that you are not allowing the works of your flesh to govern your life. The works of the flesh are; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness-lustful, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance-inconsistent, emulations-envious rivalry, wrath, strife, seditions-fightings, heresies, envings, murders, drunkenness, and revellings-excessive indulgence in sex and drugs. People caught up in this way of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

Sometimes we can get caught up in sin and working towards the flesh. Sometimes we get weary in well doing. Sometimes we get out of character and compromise who we are in Christ. Sometimes we feel like God is taking too long to answer certain prayers and we get discouraged, and srink back. With all this in mind, know that you must keep going until the very end if you want to receive your reward. It would be in our best interest. Jesus left us with the assignment to continue in His works, and to do even greater works than He did. Only what is done for Christ and the Kingdom of God will be reward.
