The Wounded Soul

3 John 1:2-8 kJV, Beloved, I would above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in good health, even as thy soul prospereth. For I rejoiceth greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

My friends, it is very difficult to live a prosperous life when your soul has been wounded. The prosperity, or the well being of your soul determines the quality of your wholeness or ability to function as a healthy human being/child of God. Many situations come to our lives to test and try us. These tests and trials can either hinder you from reaching your maxium potential in your life, or enhance your life and confirm that you can do the work in helping make your life more fulfilling. You see,  Satan’s intention when you have your tests and trials is that you become angry, bitter, in despair, weakened in your faith in the promises of God and give up. He does not want you to prosper and be made whole. He wants you to wallow in self pity and become disfunctional. He wants you of the mindset that you have no value. Wounds can stop you  from functioning in your wholeness, and as long as  he can keep you wounded you will not be whole and fulfill your God given purpose. God’s intention when you go through tests and trials however, is that He wants you to prosper and be in good health physically, emotionally, and spiritually and that’s indefinitely. God wants you happy and whole. Not miserable and lacking.

As we reminisce on the death, burial, and resurrection of the saviour of the whole world; let us remember that Christ died so that we can live. He died to heal the wounded. He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed, Isaiah 53:5. Well, the blood from His body shed during this unselfish and excruciating ordeal, was the only price that could be paid for you and me to be  set free. His death stopped your destruction. and set boundries satan cannot cross concerning you. That blood tells satan, “You don’t stand a chance buddy.”  Christ was tortured so that you can triumph over trials. When you are in Him and He in you no plan of satan can destroy you. No weapon formed against your life will prosper. You will prosper and be in good health even as your soul prospers. Pray for a mind shift today if you are weary. The mind to be settled in your thinking on what Christ’s death on the cross actually did for you.  know that no matter what trials and tests you face in your life, and no matter how ugly or violent what happened to you seems, all you have to do is look to the one who love you to the point of death. He will heal you no matter who you are or what you have done.

Also remember, not only did Christ receive wounds, and  stripes, and bruises, to pay for your sins, but He also raised from the dead with all power to let us know that sin can no longer hold you and you can defeat (through Christ) WHATEVER is trying to oppress you. The power of God is in you, use it. Once we do the hard work of trusting God completely, those wounds we received from the trauma of life’s challenges soothe away. We get the hard lessons meant for our good. The anger and bitterness subsides. We see the results in our material and spiritual life. We gained some knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in the process and we can now flourish as healed and whole, and no longer in a wounded state.

Read Psalm 23. Meditate on it. Let it speak to you. Ask the questions. Let the word of God answer. There is comfort for every pain. Solution to every problem.

Peace and Love
