Knowledge vs Feelings

Knowledge is Power; Feelings are Fickle.

James 4:17 NIV, If anyone knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.

Hello Friends, we can often wear our feelings on our sleeves. In other words, we can allow/let our emotions get the best of us. However, when knowledge comes, it brings a responsibility that makes us accountable for the things we say and do. You see, after we have received knowledge,  we must begin to apply it to the areas of our lives where we have been ignorant.

We often say, ‘Knowledge is power,’  but the application of that knowledge is what unfolds the freedom we need to function victoriously in all we do and be in a place of peace. As we walk in the knowledge of the truth, we will find that peace will take precedence over every torment, turmoil, or trial we will ever face.

Friends, never allow your feelings to take precedence over what you know is right to do. Even your gut feelings or intuition must fall subject to the knowledge of the truth. Feelings come and go my friends and when all is said and done only knowledge holds fast. Remember, feelings are fickle. Because you feel something friends, doesn’t mean that you are always right in that feeling. For example; In a court of law, all evidence of what was done must be tried before a judge and jury can give a fair ruling. Feelings /emotions alone cannot win a case.

As we know, life can be a roller coaster of feelings and emotions. But, what will ground and stabilize us is standing firm in the knowledge of the truth that we know. When situations come our way to maybe; try to get us out of a good character, or when someone rubs us the wrong way and we are tempted to, ‘Lay down our religion,’ or even just being frustrated with our own selves. We must learn to be settled and trust the knowledge we have learned. Knowledge will work on our behalf when our feelings are subject to it. Your feelings will begin to line up with your knowledge (of truth) and mature you to only react to what is productive and meaningful for your life.

John 8:32 NIV, “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Peace and Love!
