LOVE

HELLO FRIENDS! Let’s talk about LOVE……… What is it? Can you define it with your life experiences? Certainly, you must have experienced the attributes of this absolute characteristic. We are all here because of love and love is what keeps us living.

According to the dictionary definition; Love is an intense feeling of deep affection, or a great interest and pleasure in something. The Bible, however, defines Love in this way, 1 John 4:16 states that “God is love.”1 Corinthians 13:4 states, Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres. Love never fails.

LOVE, as the scriptures define it, goes far deeper than intense feelings, or great interest and pleasure in something. Love has high and humble standards and comes with responsibility and accountability. Love requires making sound choices that our emotions often try to manipulate. The Bible gives us clear explanations of love’s capacity and lets us know exactly what love is not. You may even think that doing good things means that you have love, but if you are not following the defined standard of love, then you are missing the mark. Doing good things does not mean that you meet God’s standard of love. The attributes of His love must be defined in your life living.

God challenges us to go beyond our emotional limitations and rise above temporary affection and pleasure. Love doesn’t always feel good, and as humans, we go through a constellation of emotions. Feelings come and go. Emotions rise and fall, but love is stable, constant, and sure. The capacity to love according to 1 Corinthians 13;4 can only come from its source, GOD. He encompasses the very essence of it and shares it to the human spirit. We in turn share it with each other so that we can all experience these beautiful attributes that tell us the heart of our creator toward us. Can you imagine if we would all embrace this love how happy we all would be? God commands it because the benefits that love brings can make the world a better place, a place of peace. We are all capable of receiving and giving love. We all need it and we cannot be wholesome human beings without it.

So be encouraged in love today friends. Follow the Bible’s definition of love and you will not go wrong. Submit your character to embrace the practices of love and walk in it.

GOD IS LOVE. LOVE GOD. LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOU LOVE YOURSELF. LOVE  IN DEED AND IN ACTION. LOVE WORKS NO ILL TO HIS NEIGHBOR. LOVE COVERS A MULTITUDE OF SINS. PERFECT LOVE CASTS OUT FEAR. THERE IS NO FEAR IN LOVE.

PEACE AND LOVE
