Being Broken

As we begin to truly recognize the value that God the Father has placed on our lives, we beome broken before Him. That brokeness is the place where we recognize just how frail  we are as human beings. We see our inadequacies. We begin to realise that outside of God we are nothing, and that we are in need of a greater source of power to address ourselves, others and every situation we will ever face throughout our lives.  When you become broken before God it means that we have put ourselves on His altar of sacrifice.

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: A broken and contrite heart, O God, You will not despise Psalm 51:17. God is moved with compassion when we decide that we will give Him the reigns of our lives and our will. Think of a wild horse being broken. Think of  you being that horse, and God being the rider. Naturally the horse is afraid because it does not know what will happen to it as it attracts the rider. That animal will need to feel a sense of trust before any interaction with it. Trust is a gate to love. We must come to God in belief that we can trust Him with our lives. As He shows us His tender love, we begin to let our go of self and submit to what he wants to do with us. He gently cleans us up, to let us know that he cares about us. This then draws us in closer to Him, and as we are drawn near to Him He draws into to us as well. Now friendship can begin.

The process of horse breaking takes much time and patience. However God can do nothing with us unless we allow Him. As we allow the Father to break us, we become more and more whole. We become more and more comfortable and relaxed with Him as we experience the Love of a master. He becomes our stronghold, and takes a firm grip on us as as He teaches us to trust and follow Him. Nothing can snatch us from His hand. Our rebellion is tamed as He firmly, and lovingly grips our reigns. After the horse is tamed, then and only then will it obey directions/instructions of the rider. Then and only then will it go where you want it to go, do what you want it to do, and be completely faithful to its rider as its rider has been faithful in taming it.

God has His own way of breaking each of us according the the plan and purpose that He has set for our lives. This taming must take place if we want a successful life in Christ. He is the Master and we are His servants.
