Continuing On Your Journey
More than often, we begin a new year with hopes of doing better than we did in the previous year. We make all types of resolutions and hype ourselves up to make ourselves feel as if we are ready to conquer the world. We tend to think that each new year is an opportunity to start anew, right all the wrongs, and even accomplish some goals. However, when you really think about it, the new year brings nothing new if you have the same old mindset that left your previous year lacking. Sometimes we just want a clean sleight, a do-over, and the opportunity to get things right, this time. Is the new year really a chance to start over? or is starting over, just simply continuing your life journey with a renewed mindset?
Sometimes achieving your goals, or fulfilling your purpose in life can bring on weariness. All the humps and bumps you encountered have worn you out over time. The distractions were like a curve ball and you missed the mark several times. You met up with disappointment. You feel like you have failed and just want to leave it as that. nonetheless, your success is determined by your motivation to continue. Doing things out of emotions, trends, or traditions, you proved never lasts or brings long-term success. However, revisiting your mistakes or unaccomplished goals can give you insight into what you need to do to help your resolutions come to fruition.
Remember, you are here to serve a purpose and to grow and mature in Godly character. Your challenges come to help you in that growth process. When you recognize your purpose and your worth/value, it serves as fuel to keep you moving with a focused mind. Allow God to order your steps completely since He is the one with your life’s assignment. Be patient with yourself and trust your process. Continue with the vigor that you are more than a conqueror and that all things will work together for your good.
