A Love Connection
As the hart/deer panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, oh God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before Him. Psalm 42:1-2
Hello friends. In this scripture passage, the psalmist tells of his longing for God and likens it as unto a deer panting after the water brooks. Can you relate to what he is expressing? Have you ever longed for God in such a way? Does your soul thirst for Him or after Him? Here the Psalmist describes a deer panting (out of breath) for water and compares his pants to his soul longing after the Lord. Can you imagine the thirst from wandering in a desert place with no water to quench your thirst? if never before, in this instance, you will quickly realize the importance of just one drop of water. As we know, water is life, and without it, we will surely, eventually die.
Friends, think of God as that drop of water that you so desperately need. Think of Him as your life source and the only thing that will save your life in a moment of need. Think of God as the only one Who can quench your thirst, and think of Him as the only one you cannot live without. Realize that without Him you will surely die. You see, friends, God is the only true source of life in this world. He is truly the only one Who can sustain you in this wilderness of the world in which we live. He is the one Who can cause a life-giving flow to be released into your life to fortify you and cause your life to flourish into green pastures.
So friends, just as you need water to live. Just as water is a bare necessity of life. Allow God to be that water you so desperately need. Allow Him to let a river of life to flow to you. Drink from His river, His brooks and you will NEVER thirst again. It’s a matter of life or death.
PEACE AND LOVE!
