Hello Friends. If you remember the late Tina Turner, I’m sure that you must have heard one of the most popular songs she sang and was known for titled, ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It?’ I often wondered though, why would love be characterized as a ‘secondhand emotion.’ The song went on to say, “Who needs a heart when a heart can be broken?” It seems that the experience of heartbreak was used to define a characteristic that the definition doesn’t support. Love has been attached to emotional limitations, and riding solely on the fickle experiences that merely test the strength of love. Friends, can I tell you, that as we go through life, building relationships, and interacting with our fellow humans, your ability to love will be tested. As human beings, love is something that we ALL need. Animals need love, and all creation needs love as well. What ever would we do without love, and where would we be if not for love?
Friends, we as the human race were created out of love. God’s Love. His love and longing for a possession whereby He can show His love inspired Him to create man/woman in His own image and likeness. When mankind fell to sin, our creator continued to love us. But now, what will He do with our sinful state? The Bible tells us of God’s plan to bring us back to love with Him again. Because of His unfailing love, He gave His only Begotten son to be a sacrifice for our sins and redeem us back to Him (see John 3:16). Since the Garden of Eden scene, satan has been strategic in deceiving mankind. He has done something that has caused the whole human race to be in a state of delusion. Not sure if our Creator loves us as He says He does. But we can all experience God’s love again by first accepting His son as our redeemer. Christ is the only way through which we can do this.
My friend, if you have not yet accepted God’s plan for Him to have a love relationship with you once again, then there is no better time than the present. All you have to do is ask Christ into your heart and He will pour out His love in your heart through His Spirit. Friends, there is nothing more gratifying than experiencing God’s love. His love for you is complete and steadfast. His love will cause you to love the unlovable. His love will cause your faith to be strengthened, for faith worketh by love (see Romans 5:5). God’s love when you embrace it is the most powerful source of influence you can possess. God’s love places you back in alignment with Him, it covers a multitude of sins and prepares you to see His face one day.
So be encouraged today friends to take hold of God’s Love for you. Hold on to it with your life. You don’t have to feel worthy, just accept it. He will do the rest. Whatever brokenness you may feel or have faced in the past, God is here to love on you and let you know that you are loved. Do not ever look at love as a second-hand emotion. Just know that whether broken or whole God’s love is eternal, unconditional, and has everything to do with it.
PEACE AND LOVE!
